Standard connectors are constructed with two round pins (plug) or two round holes (socket) of dissimilar widths to avoid polarity confusion (specifically for thermocouples).
They are either used for termination of sensors or connection links in extension leads.
Terminals are generally manufactured using either thermocouple materials or compensating materials for thermocouples or copper or plated copper for resistance versions.
The body in normally constructed from a plastic or ceramic compound dependant upon the temperature rating required.
The range on standard connectors include
plug, in-line socket and panel mounting socket
